Opening Weekend

We’re excited to announce the 1888 Center Opening Weekend. These four days, July 27 through July 30, will highlight our first contemporary and history exhibitions; introduce a new collaborative performance series; and feature a special guest for a live recording of our popular podcast program.

Our Opening Weekend festivities begin on Thursday, July 27 at 7:00pm with a free reception for our contemporary exhibition Literary Destinations with artist Chantal deFelice. Please RSVP.

On Friday, July 28 at 7:00pm we invite you to join us for The Sounds The Stories, an eclectic music series featuring live performances and entertaining discussions with EMÆL. Produced in collaboration with our partners at Brew Sessions Live. Tickets are $10 and support our educational programs.

On Saturday, July 29 at 1:00pm we celebrate the Decades of Orange and our first history exhibition in partnership with the Orange Public Library & History Center and the Orange Community Historical Society. This event is free and open to the public. Please RSVP.

Opening Weekend comes to a close on Sunday, July 30 at 7:00pm with a live podcast recording of The How The Why with special guest Samantha Dunn, the executive editor at Coast. Tickets are $10 and support our educational programs.

The 1888 Center located at the heart of the historic District in Old Towne Orange, California. The building, constructed in 1925, hosts a bookshop, gallery, multi-use performance space, and café serving creative beverages crafted by Contra Coffee & Tea.
