1888 Center is proud to announce the Orange County Laureate program. We’re looking for someone who is known for bringing community together through storytelling.
With this program, we want to unite the county in search of those who inspire us to be a creative and collaborative community. The laureate does not need to be a writer or artist. We want to consider broad aspects of storytelling in this search for the first Orange County Laureate:
Orange County, California, the sixth-most populous county in the nation, is rich with cultural heritage and literary arts. Our diverse cities are filled with writers, creators, educators, and more, all with their own unique stories to share.
Over the next several weeks, we’ll post updates on the campaign, info about the jury, and the cities and partners as the search goes on. Keep in touch and nominate! Who do you know that builds community and encourages us to tell your story?
The window is open until October 31st. For updates on the program or where to nominate your neighbor, visit: 1888.center/laureate.
Through storytelling, we synergize the creative efforts of individuals to provide essential tools for cultural and civic enrichment—empathy, opportunity, and a collaborative network.
